ENTERPRISE HISTORY
JUAN OLASO S.A., is the third generation of a familiar Enterprise founded in 1.929 by Juan Olaso Iborra, followed from 1.945 by his son Juan Olaso Olcina, and joined as a company from 1.970 by his grandson José Olaso Mascarell, together with other partners that were already incorporated in the same job since 1.950.
Since always has been concentrated in the commercialization of citrus produced by themselves and other bought to other growers, using them majority for export of the best quality as well as for Spanish market and industry.
Actually the direction of the enterprise is made by a team of professional experts with long experience and directed by Jose Olaso and Crisanto Bataller, and in which team can be found Agronomic Engineers, Economist, Financial Experts, Accountants, quality Technicals, etc. With the most advanced technologic means to their disposal.
Now the enterprise is located in Potries, 5 Km from Gandia in the province of Valencia, aside the sea, where we have a pack house with the highest technology for citrus treatment, what make to be one of the leaders in this area.
PACKHOUSE FACILITIES
The Central is made of 11.000m2 covered and 4.000m2 also able to cover. It has three chambers for conservation in cold temperature able for 2.000 tons, also those chambers are capable for de-greening if necessary.
Also it contents a chamber of fast cooling with tunnels that cool the goods after packed and before loading trucks in two hours with a capacity of 10/12 trucks at once.
The Pack house is divided in several sections, the first one is the disinfections and pre-sizing line, where we are selecting and classifying the fruit by colour and size.

The second section is the packing one, where the fruit is again washed, waxed, selected and sized, and then goes to the packing machines to produce nets, Giro sacks, loose trays, etc.
All machinery are from the best brands with the highest technology available, in order to make all the process as smooth as possible and keeping the best fruit quality.
OWN CITRUS PRODUCTION
The wishes of the enterprise has been to provide maximum possible of own citrus production with the modern technology to cheaper cost and perfect control of pesticides as a guaranty of quality and products.
Actually Juan Olaso S.A., and many of the good growers who were since long time giving their fruit to us for commercialise, joined in a society as a O.P.C. Number 611, called LAYPOVE S.A.T., on the same address at the main company. This makes possible that our technical controls the cultivation of the citrus all together amounting around 15.000 tons.
The varieties grown are: Clausellina, Okitsu Satsuma. Early ripping Clementines as Marisol. Late ripping Ellendale, and oranges as Navelina, Navel Late, N. Lane Late, Summer Power, Valencia Late.
We also has experimental new varieties in new plantations like Lorentina, Mioro, Orogrande, Oronules, which all are very early ripping clementines. Also Clementard (very similar to Afourer) for February and March with good cold keeping.
CITRUS PURCHASING
The Enterprise wants to serve to their clients with the best quality possible, and with any kind of citrus in any possible period, and then obviously we have to buy citrus anywhere they are and looking for the best quality.
The long frame of the citrus production in Spain goes from Tortosa in the north, till Almeria with about 450 km long, which produces big differences in clime, and between low land and mountain, consequently the ripeness of each variety can have more than two month difference, what allows to look for and find right quality during a long period.
All these helps the possibility of giving a regular service during long time for a standard good quality.

From the beginning we had clear that we should serve to our clients and consumers with natural products with the highest possible quality. We have done it and will follow doing it. We are using the most sophisticated systems to guaranty a natural product, not only of good quality, but also healthy and competitive.
To continue doing the best, we are utilizing also the best available systems which guaranty us easy way to improve continuously for the best service and quality.
We have trained our staff and also our packers and pickers to understand the value of their work in order to please clients and therefore we have created a comfort ambient for working with efficiency and rentability.
We have the certificate UNE-EN ISO 9002:1994, number ES-1723201.
We also have the certificate for CMi/BRC Technical Standard, with the quality “HIGHER LEVEL”.
Also the certificate corresponding to NATURE’S CHOICE and EUREPGAP, rom Agrivera certification company.
